Friday, November 28, 2014:

09.00 – 10.30    Lecture 1: The Triple Helix model and the Entrepreneurial university: overview, evolution of the university in Western and in CEE countries, examples. The role of the university in various innovation models – what makes the TH model distinct, what gave it a broad acceptance worldwide?

10.30 – 10.45    Break

10.45 – 11.50    Lecture 2: Activities of the Entrepreneurial University. How can they be stimulated – recommendations for university managers, business firms and government policy-makers

13.00 – 14.00    Lunch

14.00 – 15.30    Lecture 3: The Entrepreneurial University in policy-making – comparative view of EU and US policies

15.30 – 15.45    Break

15.45 – 17.15    Lecture 4: Research-intensive clusters as exemplification of Triple Helix innovation at regional level, impact on regional innovation.

 

Saturday, November 29, 2014:

09.00 – 10.30    Lecture 5: Structuring,  drafting and revising a scientific paper (before journal submission)

10.45 – 12.15    Lecture 6: Submitting a paper to a journal and presenting a paper in a conference

12.30 – 13.00    Role play: students will be divided in 3 groups representing university, business and government sectors and will debate the adoption of an important regional innovation initiative, e.g. the construction of a business incubator for university start-ups and other innovative firms of the region.  The students in each group will have to identify the main challenges and raise key issues for the sectors they represent and will seek the best conditions for the implementation of the initiative.
