DREAM – Doctoral seminar

After successfully held DREAM workshop in June 2010 in Osijek, which was attended by 25 participants from 7 European countries, Faculty of Economics in Osijek within the international interdisciplinary Doctoral Study ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNVATIVENESS again brings Saras Sarasvathy to Croatia. Workshop entitled DREAM Doctoral Seminar on Entrepreneurship As “Making” will be held 23-27 May 2011, at Inter-University Centre in Dubrovnik.

Entrepreneurship research is a relatively young discipline that has until recently been focused on the recognition and discovery of opportunities. Saras Sarasvathy, Research Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia is the world’s leading expert in the field of Effectual Entrepreneurship. Through her scientific-research work she has introduced a new way of researching entrepreneurship not only as finding but also as “making” new opportunities, firms, markets and institutions.

Workshop is intended for:
– those interested in a doctorate in the field of entrepreneurship
– members of the academic community (professors, assistants, postgraduate students)
– those interested in new knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship

Workshop will be held in English language and will cover the following topics:
– Introduction to a “made” view of entrepreneurship – antecendents and prospects
– Big ideas in economics
– Economic ideas of direct importance to entrepreneurship
– Effectuation: Elements of Entrepreneurial Expertise
– Designing Effective Research Projects in Entrepreneurship
– Managing the journal publication process
– Effectuation and Marketing: Researching effectual entrepreneurship – empirical approaches

Professor Stuart Read professor of marketing at IMD Business School, Switzerland is joining Saras in running DREAM in Croatia.
