1. Presentation of the TEMPUS project

    On October 23, 2009, public presentation of two-year work at the TEMPUS project International Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies was held at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek. The following news were presented to the public:
    -Launching of the inter-university and interdisciplinary doctoral study ENTREPRENEURHIP AND INNOVATIVENESS, which is jointly implemented by the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek, Turku School of Economics, Finland, Universitaet Klagenfurt, Austria, Univerza v Mariboru, Slovenia and Durham University, UK,
    -Launching of the Virtual Learning Platform, which will primarily support the work of the doctoral program, but also all the other entrepreneurial studies (from specialist to undergraduate) – developed in collaboration with Microsoft, who is a partner in the project,
    -Founding of the International Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies. Representatives of all the partners involved in the project were present at the presentation.

  2. Mirela Alpeza Doctor of Science!

    Today (October 22, 2009) at Faculty of Economics in Osijek, Mirela Alpeza successfully defended her doctoral thesis entitled “Exploring the Impact of Company’s Internal Learning Process on the Effectiveness of Strategic Positioning in the Environment”. Doctoral thesis was defended before the committee of professors consisting of chairwoman Sanja Pfeifer, Ph.D., Slavica Singer Ph.D. (mentor) and Allan Gibb, Ph.D., committee members. We congratulate Mirela and wish her a lot of success in private and professional endeavors!

  3. Seminar: Power of Authentic Leadership

    15.10.2009.

    Lecture organized by Center for Entrepreneurship Osijek and Graduate Program in Entrepreneurship entitled “Power of Authentic Leadership” was held on October 14, 2009, at the Business Incubator BIOS. The lecture was held by professor Susan Skjei, founder of the Authentic Leadership Program at the Naropa University, USA, and founder of the Institute for Authentic Leadership, Halifax, Canada. Beside this lecture,  prof. Skjei will also hold classes from the Authentic Leadership for Entrepreneurs course for students of the 13th class of the Graduate Program in Entrepreneurship.

  4. Study Visit to Klagenfurt, Austria

    Last week (October 08-10, 2009) students of the Graduate Program in Entrepreneurship went to a short tourist-educational excursion to Klagenfurt. In the official part of the trip, our students visited the “Lakeside” Technology Park,  Entrepreneurial Incubator, Alpen-Adria University Klagenfurt, and the Chamber of Commerce of the state of Carinthia. In the tourist part, beside Klagenfurt’s cultural sights, students also visited the Minimundus park and the Wörthersee Lake, located several kilometers from the town.

  5. Video conference with Michael Porter at the Graduate Program in Entrepreneurship

    Graduate Program in Entrepreneurship organizes for its students a video conference with Michael Porter, professor at Harvard Business School and a world-renowned expert in the fields of strategy, strategic management and competitiveness. Video conference entitled “basis of microeconomic development of competitiveness – Croatian perspective and challenges”, will be held on Friday, October 02, 2009 at 15:00 hrs at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek. Collaboration between professor Porter and Graduate Specialist program in Entrepreneurship started in 2005, when our program became a part of the consortium of 40 higher education institutions that teach the “Microeconomics of Competitiveness” course.
