Who we are?

We are a dedicated international group of professors and researchers, specializing in entrepreneurship, from academic institutions around the world. The core group emerged from the collaboration among J. J. Strossmayer University of Osijek, Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, Croatia; Turku University, Finland; Durham University, UK; University of Maribor, Slovenia and University of Klagenfurt, Austria. Our work spans research and teaching on various aspects of broader definition of entrepreneurship viewed as proactiveness, innovativeness and responsibility for own choices, on individual and institutional level. It includes process of contributing to the well-being of people and the well-being of the planet (by using UN Sustainable Development Goals as a new social contract). We are specially focused on promoting entrepreneurship as a lifelong competence, defined as the ability to act on opportunities and ideas and turn them into cultural, social and/or financial value for others.

Our key initiatives include the interdisciplinary inter-university doctoral program ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATIVENESS, designed to develop forward-thinking scholars and professionals, and leading the longitudinal research for Croatia as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), which provides valuable insights into the entrepreneurial landscape in Croatia.
