Professor Slavica Singer participated in the Effectuation 2025 conference titled Effectual Impact: The Entrepreneurial Role in Connecting Society, which was held at the University of Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands, 16-18 November, 2025. The tenth edition of this conference confirmed its unique identity of being a place of intellectual enrichment through vibrant discussions on different perspectives of effectual principles. The conference design provide presentation of new ideas, asking questions, offering different views, all the time ‘walking’ from talking and listening to learning and back.

Saras Sarasvathy is always a source of new thoughts, ideas – it was the case in this conference as well when Saras had an introductory talk on AI and Effectuation. William Gartner, one of the most cited scholars in entrepreneurship, talked about Good-Enough Entrepreneur. Panel discussion with Saras and her colleagues who helped her to shape the field of effectuation (Stuart Read, Robert Wiltbank and Nick Dew) was inspiring.

The unique feature of this conference is also the Entrepreneurial Dinner, where all of us, participating in the conference, had to make a 3-course dinner based on available ingredients, bought in advance, in a rented restaurant in two hours. Incredible experience of implementing effectuation principles and discussing (in groups – our cooking group below) what, how and who will do what.
