Business Data Analysis

Oversupply of information and lack of knowledge needed for making of business decisions are the typical problems encountered by entrepreneurs. Therefore, this course focuses on providing the knowledge needed for data structuring, in a way in which it will make a good basis for solving the perceived problems, especially in fields of finance, marketing, management, production, etc. The key topics are: accidental variables, numerical characteristics and meaning thereof; parametric distributions; assessments of expectations and proportions and statistical tests on proportion and expectation; nonparametric tests; generalized linear models; case analysis, e.g..: analysis of outstanding accounts; testing the quality of manufactured products; efficiency of promotion in product sales; modeling monthly product sales; influence of advertising on the profit rate; modeling of product demand; function of demand and supply. All the cases are analyzed through use of software – Sas and Statistica.
